Some places seem to wait. They hold centuries of history within their walls and bide their time, patient, until someone recognises their worth and dares to imagine what they might yet become. The former Collegio Convitto San Carlo in Celana, in the hills above Caprino Bergamasco, is one such place. Founded in 1579 at the behest of Saint Charles Borromeo, it stands as the oldest Catholic school in Italy. For more than four centuries it shaped generations of young minds, at its
